Press digest – Ukraine

11th day of heroic resistance of Ukraine against Russian military invasion

DESTRUCTION AND LOSSES

📌Russian aggressor forces do not adhere to agreements on humanitarian corridors, as stated during the briefing by Irina Vereshchuk, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister for Reintegration of Temporary Occupied Territories. Due to the regrouping of Russian troops and the massive shelling of the city, the residents of Mariupol could not be evacuated again today.

📌At 11 a.m. local time, the Kyiv-Rakhiv evacuation train came under fire near the Korosten station.

📌”The Russian occupiers are lying about creating humanitarian corridors by attacking civilians who are hiding in shelters awaiting evacuation. In this regard, the deputies of the Ukrainian Parliament want to personally evacuate civilians out of the corridors and invite their colleagues from the European Parliament to join as volunteers. This proposal was made by David Arahamiya, a member of the Ukrainian delegation, who has twice participated in talks with the Russian side. He noted that “the world needs to know about this, civilians need help.” The humanitarian corridors are under air and artillery attacks for the second consecutive day – the Russian invaders do not comply with the agreement on silence.

📌Since the beginning of the day – March 6, the Russian troops have been shelling private residential areas and apartment buildings and civilian facilities (schools, kindergartens, hospitals, grocery stores) in Mariupol, Irpen, Bucha (cities where Russian side doesn’t allow a real humanitarian corridor and fires at residents during the regime of silence for a second day in a row), Nikolaev, Vinnytsia, Bila Tserkva, Novopskov, Severodonetsk, Kharkov, Kramatorsk.

📌Street fights continued all day in Nikolaev, Sumy, Chernihiv, Bucha, Irpen, Mariupol, Makarov, Kharkiv.

📌Already 38 children were killed by Russian troops in Ukraine during the 10 days of the war. It is a high price to be paid by NATO and EU letting children die by tolerating the open skies over Ukraine. Each day of delay increases this figure.

📌Russian aircraft attacked the National Children’s Specialized Hospital of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine OKHMATDET. A cruise missile was shot down over the hospital. The invaders also prevent transportation of seriously injured children from the suburbs of Kiev to the hospital.

📌According to the Ministry of Health, 34 hospitals in Ukraine have been destroyed since the beginning of the war, 6 doctors killed, 23 cases of attacks on ambulance crews and medical institutions have been recorded. The World Health Organization has already posted

the information on its website, describing six violations of the Geneva Convention, listing attacks on hospitals. All information will be transferred to international courts.

📌In the evening of March 5, the Russian military blazed at Nikolaev with tornadoes. All three shells hit the territory of residential houses; there were casualties.

📌Russian troops shelled Vinnytsia airport. Eight missiles were aimed at the airport. As a result of the shelling, 4 people were rescued from the remains, one deceased later due to severe injuries. After the shelling, a fire broke out in a warehouse of combustible materials.

📌Russia openly announces new missile strikes on Ukrainian defense industry enterprises, as was declared by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

📌The Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Alexei Reznikov addressed the entire world “Close the sky over Ukraine.”

⚠️Entire Europe understands that hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians today are holding back the aggressor from invading other countries at the cost of their own lives.

⚠️At the same time, NATO refuses to close the skies over Ukraine. There are too few arguments about killing, bombing and rocketing homes, destroying one of the European nations in the 21st century.

⚠️The consequences of the Chernobyl accident with only one power unit were catastrophic for the entire world. Imagine what would happen if the next Russian missile hit the Zaporozhye NPP, which has SIX power units.

⚠️About 74% of Americans said that the United States and its allies should establish a no-fly zone over Ukraine.

📌Invaders hit the Kharkiv Institute of Physics and Technology with missiles. There is a nuclear facility “Neutron Source”, loaded with 38 nuclear fuel cells. Damage to a nuclear installation and nuclear material storage facilities could lead to a major environmental catastrophe.

📌War against Ukraine is happening not only in the sky, at sea and on land. Since February 15, Ukraine has been subjected to 2,800 distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks.

📌Despite the heroic attempts of doctors to save an 18-month-old child died as a result of the shelling of Mariupol. Ukraine continues to appeal in vain to NATO to close the skies.

📌Ukrainian actor and presenter Pasha Lee, who joined the territorial defense in the first days of the war, was killed in Irpen as a result of shelling by the Russian occupiers. As a reminder, the suburbs of Kiev, Irpen is among the cities that need a humanitarian corridor to evacuate civilians.

📌During the evacuation in Irpen, the Russian military shot a family at close range. Everyone died – father, mother, two children. This family was escaping from the war…

📌In Kharkiv at 19:04 local time, Russian aircraft fired a rocket at the TV tower on Pavlovsky Field. The rockets also damaged the Square of the Heavenly Hundred (“Heavenly Hundred” – the official collective name of the protesters killed in Ukraine during the so-called Revolution of Dignity in December 2013 – February 2014 in Kiev).

📌In the evening of March 6, around 10 pm local time, a Swiss journalist Guillaume Briquet arrived at Kropyvnytskyi Hospital. The journalist was hospitalized for a shrapnel wound.

📌According to the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Russian Federation is preparing provocations – shelling of Russian cities to accuse Ukraine. “In the situation of actually being defeated, the Russian authorities are preparing to implement a likely scenario, which involves shelling residential areas of Russian cities near the Ukrainian border and further incite accusations of the Ukrainian military.”

📌Roman Gribov, border guard, one of the defenders of Snake Island. Roman is the author of the phrase “Russian warship, go fuck yourself!” pronounced in response to the offer of a Russian warship to surrender under threat of missile strike. Now Roman and 12 of his colleagues are in Russian captivity.

📌 Glory to Ukraine. Since the beginning of the war with Russia, 4,133 children have been born in Ukraine, and 3,973 couples have decided to officially register their relationship.
