DESTRUCTION AND LOSSES

📌On 2 March, air alerts signaled in the following regions: Kyiv, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Fastiv, Poltava, Dnipro, Okhtyrka, Mirgorod, Mariupol, Vasylkiv, Odessa, Mykolaiv, Izmail, Ivano-Frankivsk, Vyshneve, Chernivtsi, Sumy.

In total, since the beginning of the war, 151 air raid alerts have been generated in the 5 big cities of Ukraine.

📌On the late evening of the 2 of March, Russian air forces inflicted a series of blows on the building of the Railway Station in Kyiv. Thanks to the work of air defense, the building survived, the main heating was damaged by fragments of downed missiles.

📌The Russian military began mining Kherson. This was reported by the Head of the Kherson Regional State Administration Gennady Laguta.

📌In the city of Okhtyrka, an airstrike was carried out on a thermal power plant and the city’s railway station.

📌📌 In the city of Chernihiv, rockets hit a residential area. There are no military facilities around, but the civilian infrastructure of the nearby district was impacted – a hospital, several schools and kindergartens. In addition, Russian infantry launched attacks on residential buildings in the city center. According to the State Emergency Service, 33 people died and 18 were injured as a result of air strikes on Chernihiv.

📌 In the Chernihiv region, a missile strike hit an oil depot, resulting in a powerful explosion. 

📌 On the night of 3 March, the invaders attacked the city of Izyum, Kharkiv region. As a result, residential buildings were destroyed, at least 8 dead, including 2 children.

📌The staff of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant has been held captive by the Russian invaders for 7 days without rotation, causing threat to people’s lives, as well as to the operation of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.

📌At 17:00 local time on 3 March, a convoy of more than 100 units of Russian military equipment moving towards the city of Energodar, Zaporozhye region. The invaders have already fired at the checkpoint and are using weapons against civilians. Lets recall yesterday’s civilian shield of inhabitants of Energodar that stood up to defend the city and the Zaporozhye NPP.

📌In vicinity of liberated city of Bucha, battles of the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue against the Chechen units of the army of the Russian occupation forces. “The Kadyrovcy have come,” said the mayor of Bucha, Anatoly Fedorchuk.

📌4 Russian air fighters violated Swedish airspace – 2 SU-27s and 2 SU-24s violated airspace east of Gotland, information reported by the Swedish Ministry of Defense.

📌Russian invaders sank a civilian cargo ship “HELT” under Panama. Previously, the cargo ship was taken hostage along with the team. The 6 crew members, including 4 Ukrainians and 2 Russians, were rescued and delivered to the shore. Since the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine, the Russian Navy has already fired at 5 civilian ships, one completely flooded, and  another one with 600 tons of diesel fuel was set on  fire for several days. In addition, 3 more civilian ships are held hostage by the Russian fleet.

DEFENSE UPDATES

📌On the morning of 3 March, the Air Defense Unit shot down a Russian Su-34 fighter near Volnovakha. The fighter was shelling the civilian population and infrastructure of the city.

📌The Ukrainian military gained  a significant victory – they completely recaptured one of the suburbs of Kyiv, Bucha, from the enemy and returned under the control of Ukraine. The Ukrainian flag was raised over the city again, about 1,500 civilians were evacuated from the area. Also, civilians were evacuated from the neighboring suburb of Irpen.

📌In the temporarily occupied city of Melitopol, Zaporozhye region, civilians marched on the streets with Ukrainian flags and demanded that the Russian military free the city.

📌 Already 80 million UAH, approximative 2.407.975,82 Euro donated by Ukrainians in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

📌Estimated losses of the Russian Federation Army in Ukraine:

📌The Joint Information Center of the Ukrainian Armed Forces of has been launched. Mothers and wives of Russian invaders who want to take their children and husbands from captivity can address their requests directly to the center.

📌The second round of Ukrainian-Russian negotiations began on the Ukrainian-Belarusian border. According to Presidential Adviser Mykhailo Podolyak, the key issues on the agenda are an immediate ceasefire, a truce, humanitarian corridors for the evacuation of civilians from destroyed or continuously shelled cities.

📌The Russian army is many times larger than the Ukrainian one, not even 2-3, but 5-10 times. The Russian side does not account civilians in this war, they do not plan to report their casualties, they brought crematorium for them.

📌Ukraine is awaiting for NATO to close the air space as soon as possible. Else Ukraine requests NATO to designate a specific date when this will become possible. If the decision to close the skies over Ukraine is not made, Ukraine will require  air planes.

📌The entire world  is  too late to realize about the situation in Ukraine. Now countries are being told about the situation by their nations, and are encouraged to attend the mass rallies. The world should know that they are  late with their policy – no one expected that a man would become a beast.

📌Ukraine does not threaten anyone, we are not terrorists, we do not seize foreign lands. There is no other way to stop the war other than dialogue. And we and the world should talk to Putin.

📌Ukraine deserves to be at the level of countries like Germany. Ukraine’s membership in the EU is not a priority, but a demonstration of attitude. Germany should become one of the guarantors of Ukraine’s security.

PUBLIC AND BUSINESS SUPPORT

📌The LEGO company, following other international companies, announced about its withdrawal from Russian market. The company has already suspended deliveries to 81 stores in Russia.

📌 In Paris, the metro station “Europe” was temporarily renamed to “Ukraine-Europe”.

📌 In Moscow and St. Petersburg, citizens of the Russian Federation marched peacefully against Russia’s aggression against Ukraine. The local police arrested women, children and the elderly. 

📌The world-famous writer, author of the Harry Potter novel series, JK Rowling, expressed support for Ukraine on her Twitter page.

📌Polish video game developer CD Projekt, known for The Witcher and Cyberpunk projects, has decided to suspend sales in Russia and Belarus.

📌 IKEA Group has announced that it is suspending operations in Russia and Belarus. In addition, on 3 March, the IKEA Foundation announced that they would provide emergency assistance in the amount of 20 million euros to help refugees from Ukraine.

 

INTERNATIONAL SUPPORT OF UKRAINE

📌The map of support of Ukraine during voting at the UN General Assembly on March 2:

📌In connection with the uncontrolled situation at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, Ukraine appealed to  the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to address to The North Atlantic Organization with a demand to close the airspace over Ukrainian nuclear facilities and to foresee actions to prevent acts of nuclear terrorism, including the seizure of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant and the exclusion zone by Russian troops.

📌The British Prime Minister announced that about 38 countries from around the world have made the most massive appeal in history  to the International Criminal Court in connection with the Russian invasion of Ukraine

📌The EU signed a Memorandum with Ukraine on the provision of 1.2 billion euros of macro-financial assistance.

Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba’s statements 

📌”It’s not torches that burn in Ukraine, but Russian tanks.” a person appeal by Dmytro Kuleba to the Head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, after Lavrov mentioned about Ukraine’s alleged state protection of the “Nazi torchlight procession”. “The only ideology of Ukraine now is the People’s War against the Russian invaders,” Kuleba began his address.

📌Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the Army are staying with the Ukrainian people both in wartime and in peacetime.

📌The IAEA Board of Governors issued a Resolution condemning the Russian aggression against Ukraine. “The world is united against the actions of Russia, which pose a threat to Ukraine and all of Europe,” Dmytro Kuleba said.

📌We will hold Russia accountable for war crimes and crimes against humanity. Ukraine, together with 45 countries, activated the OSCE Moscow Mechanism regarding the Russian invasion.

📌China is ready to make efforts to end the war peacefully.
